1965 MMP's Barracuda Hemi swap! The Ever Changing Build
It might be a good idea to call Bouchillon Performance, and talk to Randy about the harness before you get too deep in. He doesn't use Hotwire to have his harnesses made. He has a guy that makes them for him, and if I remember right, they use an ECM from a Mexican Dodge pickup because they are easier to tune. Be careful moving that 545RFE around....those things are some heavy ****'s! Make an 833 feel like a feather!
Hey JDMopar, So I called Randy and he was not nice on the phone which is screwed up because I was nothing but nice and just needed some info. He told me he didn't have time to talk to me and was just unpleasant to deal with so I came away with out and info on the kit and ECU setup. I also sent an email and a message through face book with no reply.. I'm not knocking the guy maybe he just had a bad day. But.....
*So not much of a update other than collecting parts and sorting out my harness and figuring out the small bits I'll need to get everything working
Super excited that my harness will plug into my Dakota Digital dash setup without splicing or cutting or running random wires not harness integrated. Should end up with a clean looking "stock" looking harness. Hacked harnesses are a pet peeve of mine I can't stand random wires here and there... Went through a did test fit of the harness on the motor trans and only have 3 wires I need to get sensors for. No biggie :)
I was also able to find an EGR block off plate and manifold plug for sale here in the states. I also bought a v8 mount kit, jeep exhaust manifolds are in route as I type this as well as a pulley and pulley mount bypass for the power steering ( I'll still have to mod it to work on the non-eagle heads ) but that's not hard.
As for the Car... I was told it was out of paint but my guy saw something in the 1/4 panel he wanted to work on so I'll send a text here soon to find out if I can bring it home this weekend. I will update as I get more info... ugh
*Oh and on a sad / happy Note, I have sold the Supercharger unit manifold and efi harness to a member here on the forum. I'm finishing up a few things he requested on it and hopefully we'll see it in a build thread on the forum soon.
These are the 3 wire I need to get sensors for and find a home for. 2 of these are just for the dash gauges. The 3rd wire is for the ecu. These will be easy to place, shouldn't be an issue! The 2nd picture is of the EGR plate mounted on the head and EGR plug on the manifold. It was hard to find these two parts in the states. Seem even tho these two part actually came stock on the Ram 3500 truck the EPA have deemed them a threat to the environment and now illegal to sell or purchase... Shh I'm and outlaw :icon_fU:
Ok so I know I'm gonna have some one telling me I got the wrong mounts as I'm using an early K-member with /6 mount placement and these are for the v8 of a 67 and up... So I'll explain my self here.. lol Okay so the 67 and up V8 mount spacing on the K-member is 20" and the slany mounts are 22.5". My worry with getting the Schumacher/ UStool /6 swap mounts is that it's setup for the wide 67 body and I was worried it would place the motor in a location that I couldn't adjust.. So my thought and reasoning for getting the v8 puck style swap mounts is I now have 1.25"+/- of movement that I can use for block fitment moving where I need it.
The oil filter block off plate install.. I had planed on running a remote oil filter and cooler so I have a few of the parts already and should be a easy adaptation into the barracuda.
More updates coming soon! :D
