Today, dollar for dollar, is the 318 faster than the 340 ???

I get your point and agree with you, hands down the teener is the choice. Matter of fact I have 2 that I plan on building, one being 67-68 casting. The other I haven’t checked yet. 340’s are pricey as of late and I just don’t see the justification. Also the thick wall 318 and 360 blocks are commanding big money. If you’re building for high horse power you need an X or R block. If its 400 hp your after and especially if its a non numbers matching car, go with the teener.
