Trust me this is not the way I would prefer to make these but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do. I ordered the adapter plates from Hedman and he said they are in stock in Their Georgia plant. I also ordered a 6”-12” (5/16) aluminum plate from Amazon as they said it could be here Friday, and was. The plate was from China and was about 1/4 inch short, room I could have used. All cut by hand, drilled, and hand fit. Not a fun job but I missed another three day race this weekend and I’m tired of waiting to get things delivered.

My fancy Harbor Freight drill press and Dewalt saw I modified and attached to a Harbor Freight welding table. This comes in pretty handy at times.

Damn you are an animal!!! I’ve made 2 sets of those and I did most of it with a mill. No way was I doing all that by hand. I was too old for that crap 20 years ago.

This is not a fun job but one that is keeping me from racing. They may show up Monday or a month from Monday and I have several big money races coming up with an untested engine and transmission I built and a fresh converter from Transmission Specialties. It’s go time.

I have a dumb *** question............why do they need to be aluminum?

The ones I have ordered are steel. I’m doing aluminum because it’s easier to do by hand with aluminum. The steel ones will need cut and fitted too when I get them

I saw this company on one of the car shows. They had a similar problem and couldn't get a part they needed in time and sent it out. You can even do a drawing on a napkin and they can put it in cad from that.

I’m kinda funny in a lot of ways. I hate paying someone for something I can do. I install every household appliances I buy even though I hate doing that kind of work. I’ve never paid to have a car washed, waxed, grass cut, oil changed, etc. a lot of my Dad rubbed off on me that way. I’ve never attended college but besides my millwright training in took three classes of Autobody, home electrical, mig, Tig, stick welding, plumbing, small engine repair, etc.

You went to college just not in a school. How many people went to school and just learned how to sit at a desk all day and never do anything with there hands and don't know how. Plus they get paid a LOT more than most folks. Working people need to unite.

The first project in community college machining course was making a ways cleaner, just a T shaped piece of 1/4 steel plate. Had to do the entire thing by hand with a hacksaw and a file. It can be done by hand......and it had to be within .01 tolerance! Next project was on a lathe, brass plumb bob and then a Bridgeport milled 4 sided dice...harder than it looked! @pittsburghracer Could you scroll saw that 1/4 AL plate...real slow?

PBR, I wish I'd know you were looking for a set of adapters, I have an extra set hanging on the wall.

Ohhhh man. I’ve had probably three sets over the years. One set I practically gave to my buddy and then he sold the car as a roller and gave him all the extra parts. I actually have another set of Hedman headers in my attic but these ones already have my O2 sensors, EKG bungs, vac system, and exhaust system set up.

I have 2 sets that are one piece per head & the other set is the 6 piece set similar to what you have made. The 6 piece set came with a package deal where I ended up with a set of 2" tube headers for a chassis car, which I'll probably never use. I've had them at multiple swap meets & there has never been an interest in them.

Message me what you would want for them please.

love the bandsaw mounting, any pics of that?

Sorry it was a hot humid 88 degrees here so I took a shop day off. It gets hot in there. Nothing fancy here but it does the job. The Harbor Freight table has a screw down lock system on it but you can see I also added a brace. The saws trigger is wired open and I use a foot pedal to control on and off. I control my porting speed this way and feel more comfortable doing it that way.

Well what a mess this project turned into. I called Hedman Wednesday a week ago and talked to him about getting a set of adapter plates and he told me the number I needed but that I had to order them through a vendor so I called summit and placed the order around 9am. I asked he if they could contact Hedman so they could get them shipped. This Monday afternoon I called to see what’s up as Georgia to pa ships pretty quick. Ohhhh they didn’t leave yet. Well guess what??? When they finally got here they were the wrong plates. So I call him again and we take some measurements and he says ohhhh you need this number. So now I paid for two sets till I get them shipped back. Who know when they will get here. So anyway a member messaged me and says he has some he would gladly sell. So I said I’m very interested and the next day he was going to email me some pictures. Never heard from him again and that was days ago. So I finished one side today and will try to finish the other side this weekend. All fit up for the passenger side and helicoiled. Two more races missed this weekend
