that just looks normal for a non undercoated car…. That was in a very dry climate

trunk looks like my 50 year old trunk.

it sorta looked like it had a California back and yellow plate on the front.

Normal?
that brake line dosn't look good at all, id be alittle concerned, could be just surface rust tho

I got into this hobby at 17 years old. I feel ya!

And every once in a while people still play that “throw a blind offer out to open the door game” at me 30+ years later.

Get in touch with real live mopar hobbiest at local shows, swaps, Cruise-In’s, etc.
Yup, there are 5 guys and growing that I am learning as much as possible from

inspect and verify

A rusty 50 year old brake line itself shouldn’t condemn this car. The floor around it looks to have some promise to justify more pictures or inspection.

I just wonder if this car was for sale posted here with a different sale amount and/or seller.

Looking at the parts list, that work was done at least pre 1990.

you’re rolling dice why it wasn’t bolted back together. While it’s sounds cared for, not sure if original owner was last person do drive it.

If I was in the market I'd certainly go look at it. Price isn't too far off for a four gear car that isn't falling apart. BUT, bear in mind that the SF peninsula can carry a lot of salt water air.

And my experience with notch vinyl top cars is.....watch out!! It could get ugly around the rear glass once you rip off that top. Maybe easily worse than many other models with vinyls for sure.

Well Since i have seen all the paperwork and extra parts that come with The price is too far off like some said.
The car has been in Cali until 2014 then it went to michigan in climate controlled storage.
Waiting on more pics the more i see the more i like it, I havn't seen Any body Rust yet getting pics around Vinyl Top for sure! because thats coming off!
I would leave Orig color because so close to how mine was

Im still at 15K if it checks out. I feel that when I buy stuff, dude wants to sell, I want to buy, so a comprimise is met. A 'fair' deal is one that hurts me a little, but is slightly uncomfortable to the seller as well. Now those parameters are subject to perception and can be fathoms apart...then ...no deal...BUT if those perceptions are workable.....maybe we have a deal. I feel like what I paid for the duster was high for me, but they sold a solid 65K original mile car....kinda tough to find.

edit...Id pay 15K if I wasnt going to tear it apart....thats my get er running and driving price. If my plans was to tear into it...Id go buy a project...cause we know its all gonna snowball.

best thing to do is do all your homework on the car and make an offer. you will find out in a real hurry if this is the car for you. personally I would not buy a car that I did not inspect in person and if it was somewhat rare or a sought after model I would have it appraised by a Mopar specialist.

I talked the owner in Michigan before it went on eBay. So if anyone needs info on the I can help. The car was NOT in a climate control garage in Michigan and was one of the reasons I turned the car done. It had mold everywhere. I have all the pictures from it when I was interested. I offered him 13,500 then 15k and he turned me done. He wanted 18k and sold for more on EBay

I just talked to him. Yes the car sold. The new owner bought it for his wife. He ended up coming down with cancer and passed away, now she’s selling the car.

Look CAREFULLY for rust. Decent (and it looks decent from the pictures) 340 Formula S cars (even notches) with matching numbers are rare enough to be worth more than $9500. I would say $14,500 would be reasonable. If the rust isn't bad, it looks like an easy restoration.

I'm surprised that car is actually for sale. There's a few sites that look just like that and when you contact the people about the cars, they're irritated because the car sold 8 years ago and these sites keep the ads up with their information in them.

I'm not sure I'm following this storyline correctly. some guy owned it, died of cancer and his widow sold it on ebay to a guy who is selling it on craigslist for the same money?
