Early A switch question

Single speed and variable speed wipers used different motors and switches. Some wiper switches with the washer options didn't have a separate washer button in the middle. On some, you just pushed the whole knob in to activate the washer motor.
Ok thank you for the explanation of variable speed systems needing a variable motor.
Sounds like if I want this to work I will also need the variable motor from the donor car as well as the switch, bladder bag, pump.
Do you know if the wiring to the motor is the same or will I need to get the wiring as well? Can I add the missing wires and retape at least the engine bay run to clean it up?
