'65 Gas Tank Installation: Filler Tube before or after?

The top of the filler tube is screwed to the inside of the rear quarter so cannot be installed after the tank is in. As I recall, I have the tube in place, but not screwed down, then work the tank onto the tube as I'm raising it into place. Once the tank is in, you can lift up the tube and screw it down. Don't forget to lube the bushing with something (soap, WD40, etc) before trying to push the tube in.
