Today, dollar for dollar, is the 318 faster than the 340 ???

what aftermarket heads, a decent aftermarket cam and decent compression via aftermarket pistons (just for starters). no 340 stuff really.
same parts as pretty much any engine out there.

I am contemplating springing for Edelbrock 340 heads, the ones with 2.02s and the big chambers for my 340 build. As opposed to finding used heads with 2.02s I also beleive the aluminum parts will lighten the car up a bit. See? "Variables" in the setup, car weight etc.
I haven't looked into it yet but those heads used to be $1500 a set.
