Today, dollar for dollar, is the 318 faster than the 340 ???

so,..if a fella bores a 318 block to 4.040 and builds it,..is it still junk???
back when i had a 71 cuda with a .030 over 318, J heads,0 decked, weiland intake, wolverine cam,904 small stall, peg leg rear of un known ratio built on a budget...and a 71 duster X block bored 4.080 with X heads, .508 purple cam, LD340 intake, 18 spline A833, 8 3/4 with 3:91 gears,....both run like raped apes! sure the duster was more raw and the cuda was more streetabile, i doubt there was .50 difference in 1/4 mile if thay was geared the same!
