The paperwork on the AR15 I just bought online from Rural King was free because I had it sent to a Rural King store. A 50 minute (app) background check was a 2.00 fee. Pennsylvania was always great about doing paperwork and even private sales require it. Three different people signed off on my serial number before I got my gun and that was just at the store. Then we receive copies. Then if requested most shops will give you a form that you can list all of your guns, calibers, make and model, and serial numbers for your safe keeping. From what I heard the gun shows used to be a little sloppy but I’m sure those are even stricter now.
