At this stage, if there is an elevation difference between the 2 fitted edges the half C will align them. Either by pulling the low side up or pushing the high side down.

Thanks. That makes sense.

In that particular patch I did Ok with the tacks, but other times a way to readjust would have been helpful.


Final welds weren't so nice. I've learned the galvanizing isn't helping me! But the big issue is getting too much heat . :( I'll prob get a chance to practice again this fall. The other side needs work
