As far as the critisism, yea the Inky had it at the fold line, but WSJ was on top, and the radio I've heard (KYW, BBC, NPR) generally not shredding but contrasting the talk versus the scenes on the ground.
Talking with some folks in the park last evening, they all thought it was lame, especially the 'either or' premise.
