Okay so whats your recommendation? i said he can run a early carter bbd or a holley 2280, or just buy a new one. Sounds like your having a bad day? lol
What's there to disagree with about the knockoffs not being the real thing?
I got lucky last year and found a guy with a pile of OEM/NOS BBDs and bought 2. One went on my son's truck and the other one is going into mine. You don't get that luck every day.
Before I bought a Chinese wanna be carb, even if I had to start with 3-4 to get 1 good one, I'd build up a good original BBD or 2280. They aren't hard to work on, biggest issue I find is worn out throttle shaft bores. Which isn't the end of the world, that can be dealt with.
Besides that are the crusty ones that have sat for years full of old gas and/or got water in them, gotta be careful there.
