VA had a thing for three years medical treatment after you get out. Contact your local VA rep and get registered, never hurts. Need all your DD 214's.

You can still sign up any time as a retiree. Some disabilities applied for are time dependent.
A VA service rep at your local VA can explain that. I use the VFW rep.
