1958 Dodge

So, I called over the weekend to see how he is doing and ask about a '58.

He is almost certain he doesn't have the registration, but he will look.
Said he would provide a bill of sale.

Can you register a car without a transferable registration?
Or does the 'current' owner have to file for a lost registration first?

VIN: does a '58 have the vin anywhere other than driver's door jamb?
Driver door would not open when there last, need vin to get insurance in order to register.

He brought up my concern over the frame, and said on the next day over 45 degrees, he would pull it up on the concrete so I can get a better look, as long as I help him move the car in front of it somewhere else.

Also, a new windshield came with the car, in a crate, and it has been outside since.
Crate rotted away over decades, not sure of the condition of the windshield.

Multiple obstacles and unknowns, and it's getting colder here. A warm day and a friend or two to help would be a good start.
