Samsung is building multi 100 million dollar chip factory in Texas, I think... for sure in the States...
Samsung said it plans to build a $17 billion semiconductor factory outside of Austin, Texas, amid a global shortage of chips used in phones, cars and other electronic devices. "This is the largest foreign direct investment in the state of Texas, ever," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in announcing the project Tuesday.
Yeah 3-5 years out to full production.
Then you have the raw material issue. There’s not enough here in the US. We have to source a lot of that from overseas. No matter how we cut it, we’re stuck in a global system that’s gonna suck. Raw materials is the number one reason for all these shortages.
