With or with out a hood scoop?
Funny (B body story) well, not that funny! I sold it last month, but I had a 62 Dart more door. I cleaned it up pulled the stuck slant, did the body/paint. My plan was to drop in a poly 318 or mabe a B motor. I had fabbed a max wedge scoop out of 20 ga mild steel. Only way to tell it from a $1500 oem aluminum scoop was a magnet.
A friend over in La is a 62 b body nut and he wanted it for parts car, but wanted it for cheap. Then he bitched because I cut the hood for the scoop. Yes there were 62 Dart Max Wedge cars, but they never had the scoop! Anyway a guy drove from N Pa here to S E Tx for that Dart!
I have a 64 Belvedere more door driver I have got pretty darn nice, but I did a mild custom two tone paint job on it/ Yea I have enough to make it one color if wanted. No, I do not have an extra hood. Yes I will cut the hood for the scoop!!! Is this car worth much? No maybe would bring $5-6000 maybe.
I like the car. I will like it even more with the scoop (maybe the low hemi scoop?)
and it will all run cooler with the hole in the hood. Does it ever overhear? No! lol
