As the professor said, The cam plate holds the cam in place and the eccentric washer and bolt hold the cam timing gear and eccentric in place. You’ll def need to break it down to this level but the gears and chain shouldn’t have to be removed if your careful. I’d def put the #1 cylinder at tdc though before busting it open.
What’s the larger round piece surrounding the cam washer? Also thank you for the pic. I did mention that I’m going to use an electric fuel pump? Thanks for all the help. I’m a whole lot less freaked out now.
