Don’t know if it was because I was a kid in school or the winters were really worse when I was a kid. Maybe it’s just the way we remember things. But I can remember massive piles of snow we would play on. The windrow on the sides of the street blocked all but the roofs of the houses and almost a tunnel shoveled out to get to the street. Never payed that much attention to the temperature, it was cold we dressed accordingly. Big mitts, touque, bush packs, parka. Went outside played in the snow till we were frozen and slopping wet. Then in the basement to get clothes off and then hot cocoa. None of this glued to the PS4 and whinning about how cold it is. Old lady would literally kick us out of the house.
My mom did the same and if we came in the house and made a mess with our wet shoes she would hang us up on a coat hook by our belts.
Truly she did.
