Agree. That's one not to bother with.
There's been other fictionalized historical events on film done much better.

The filmmakers attempted to condense
The failure was not that they tried to condense the offensive into three hours. Plenty of other big stories have been made into films 3 hours or less, with some degree of success.
A Bridge Too Far certainly was and is pretty good movie even though of course it has historical flaws.
Really good is S.L. Marshal's
Bastogne, the First 8 days over Christmas.

Hardly remembered reading before. This time something really struck me - the role played by the 703 Tank Destroyers. I realized that was a family friend's unit and that's where he was - Bastogne. For years I had no idea he had been in the war at all. After I learend he had been a TD he had said he was at the Bulge but we never talked about it more than that. Neighbor down here where I live now was in the 601. So put them in touch. That was mid 1990s. Both gone now. I digress...
