In a nutshell the reason I went coil over was sheer laziness and simplicity. And I wanted to eliminate the torsion bars for the space gained. It simply made everything easier for me. Mine was a roller when I started so virtually a blank canvas if you will. I had zero invested in front end and was swapping over to the HDK K frame so it just all made sense. I race against some guys that still utilize the “traditional” factory setup and they are certainly as competitive as anyone out there, however there are less and less of them each season. The coil overs do provide more flexibility if you go from auto cross to say straight up 1/4 mile drags. Not beating a dead horse but as a competitor in several arenas not just cars I often have to embrace technology advances as they appear to stay competitive. Not that I do not like nostalgia, as I am a State Champion with single action pistols, but I do not defend my home with them. I utilize a red dot on a SIG for that. I see the beauty in both sides and really just becomes user preference and application. Apologies for long winded answer but this was a good thread and a excellent conversation prior to the trolling and I am trying to reel it back in to exactly that. Just my .02
