Considering it ran 8.11 fist time out with significant issues and no time spent sorting it out then that really is remarkable for what he has in it parts wise. Most of the people on this forum could build that engine. Mid 12's with what could only really be called a mild street engine is a great result. Fix the issues and put a decent solid cam in it and watch it run. I thought those heads were meant to choke it to death according to the experts here...... Even in a some what mild combo they performed very well.
What would it run if it had 10.5 to 11-1 comp a decent solid cam some where in the 240's to 250's, a single plane manifold and a 750 DP? A lot faster than it currently is I'm sure.
