Someone converted to an SI 10 or 12?
Takes a plug in the side for the wires.
One wire is the 'sense'.
The other wire is power to excite the rotor at low rpm. Once its capable of producing power the internal regulator diverts output back into the rotor as needed.
The excite wire usually comes from the ignition run.
Ammeter or no ammeter?
With no ammeter, there's a lamp and resistor in the exciter wire.
With an ammeter, there's a resistor or resistor wire.
