Did you find a cable shift V8 904? If so, using the later input shaft would be a good upgrade. Hopefully, if you found a V8 cable shift 904, it came out of a car with a floor shifter and not push buttons like in a 64. Do some checking to verify, but I think the rooster comb in the valve body is different between the push button and floor shift transmissions. I went thru all that crap when trying to put a big block, cable shifted slip yoke 727 in a 64 Belvedere wagon. My car had push buttons, and the trans came out of a column shifted 65 Coronet. :BangHead: Never did get it to work right, and finally scrapped it and put a later 727 in it with manual linkage.
