Warranty 318 Block

Just pulled the 318 out of my 76 D100 and it turns out it is a warranty block. The background on the truck is it was a CalTrans roads department truck. It was originally outfitted with a 318 HD option. It’s rumored that the 318 HD had 360 heads and intake and possibly steel cranks.
When we yanked it I was anxious to check the heads for a 360 casting but they turned out to be 2843675 castings that came on 1968-74 318’s and had 1.78” intake valves. Initial thoughts was that the heads must have been replaced because it did have the 360 intake manifold in place.
I looked at the block next. It was casting in 1971 and does not have any numbers on the pan rail.
Well, regardless, I am putting a hot little 318 in it and a performance built trans. The only thing wrong with this engine and trans is two ears on the flex plate sheered off. It made a weird noise and it was just my excuse to build a spare 318 up with Speedmaster sheafs and intake along with Comp Cams valvetrain and flat tops.
I’m thinking about putting a flex plate on this thing and put it in a 1973 318 Duster I have. Maybe I’ll put it up for adoption?
Cutrently having a heck of a time with alternators. Bought the AR Engineering Denso brackets and tried 2 separate Densos that were too big and a square back that was too big. I ground a tiny bit off the square back and it is sooo close but doesn’t touch and allows for the use of the original belt.
