Lets make the best real world *MPG* THREAD EVER !!

My old 1975 Plymouth Duster. 25 MPG on the highway. 318, 2 bbl 999 automatic and a 2.45 gear 8 1/4” rear. 1973 340 manifolds and full stock dual exhaust.

Motor was bone stock except a 71 318 single plane 2 bbl intake and a carter 2 bbl carb. Electronic ignition, and I added B van (1986/1987 cruise control kit)

Transmission was a 999 (lockup 904 with a 2.75 first gear) built it from spare Dakota warranty parts. Electric lockup, just add 12 volts.

2.45 final drive ratio. 195/75/14 tires always run at 36 psi when traveling.

cruise on at 60/62 MPH, in the days of 55 MPH speed limit. That was my mixture and that was in the early 90’s.

Duster is the middle car.
