I'm guessing this one is a Northern Harrier, but I'm not sure. With the binoculars I was able to see the area around the eye better and that's why I'm guessing harrier.
Maybe it wasn't a dove but seems apropros right now. With the field glasses I could see some small under feathers on the branch and
had been a dove in the same area Friday. Haven't seen him since, and that's a big slow moving bird - perfect for a cooper or harrier....
I wish they would target the squirrels and house sparrows. Both populations have gotten out of hand here.
