James’ 1974 W200 build
I used a 2-1/2 exhaust pipe coupled off the header into a 90* bend pipe going down and then 90* after 90* with couplers to connect to the X muffler. The pipe can be transfer a tad to raise it up as so not to hang down to far and look silly. The X muffler placement is approximate.
but it’s right there, it’ll move very slightly depending on how the driver side comes routed into it.
From there, I do think there is enough room to run the super long mufflers side by side. The exhaust pipe slides right into the mufflers for ease.
I’ll move the long mufflers back as far as practical. This way my son can just cut pipe out if he wants some noise later. I’m not entitled sure how I’ll do tailpipes. Perhaps a pair (fore & aft) 45* bends and something to connect them, like a very tight bent pipe. IDK.
So far, I can run my fingers between every point of the pipe with ease, so there is decent clearance. Nothing will get baked, burnt or rub to vibrate.
