Why is everyone using cable kickdowns?

Im running a full lokar throttle/kickdown cable kit. At the time I didn't have either and the throttle cable could be found but correct linkages could not at a reasonable price. I paid about 1/4th for the full lokar kit compared to what I would have had to pay for stock style stuff. It was easy and has been reliable for years. I have a 4 door with a non-original v8 so no one cares about this car anyway :lol:
