65 Barracuda Filler Neck Solution?

I recently finished my 65 Barracuda and I absolutely love the car! My first time filling up the tank I had gas spill out while filling it up. I was quick to clean the quarter off and avoid any damage to the paint. Well, I was driving the car around a few weeks ago and after pulling into the garage I saw the disaster on my quarter. The fuel had I can only assume traveled up the filler tube while turning the car during the drive and drained fuel down my quarter. The paint has bubbled up and is soft goopy in the area.

My question is has anyone found a solution to the rather terrible filler angle of the first gen Barracudas?
