Stop in for a cup of coffee
I was also a Coswain and one time the ship needed milk we were off of Italy I think. OK they told me and the division officer to take a LCVP to the pier a fewmles away and pick it up. This guy was seriously high strung. So we go get three pallets of milk in like juice boxes. On the way back the ramp seal kind of blew out it was prob origional for the 40's. Pretty funny we start taking water on badly, we get near the ship the motor is pretty much under water and the bilge pump cannot keep up. He starts yelling through a old school megaphone like a tube. Ahoy Shreveport we are sinking like ten times. Freaking juice boxes floating everywhere in the LCVP. I am just laughing my *** off when he says he cannot swim. We hobble to the ship right when the intake goes under water. Some how get it attached to the crane (lifting points under water of course) Ok they put pressure on it. Way to much weight and the drain is like a inch plug. I get this brilliant idea, drop the ramp. Unlatch it and pop the pressure from the water broke the cable. a waterfall of Juice boxes floating all over the place in the med. Man that was funny. Glad it all got blamed on the LT
