Unfortunately for me .....my son is part owner of 3 bars. Every time I visit him at any of his bars it's free pool and all the drinks are free for me and any friends I bring!!
I know this problem.
My family owns a bar here in Ohio. In fact I was the primary liquor license holder for a few years after my grandfather passed away.
Somehow, none of us are are really drinkers. I think its mostly because we've seen it and been around it all of our lives. We kinda just tune it all out. I had bad experience with it as a teenager that turned out to be a good thing. My stepdad was an alcoholic, but grandpa wouldn't allow him in the bar, unless he was playing music. He was never allowed behind the bar. I've never been interested in shooting pool, and bars have just always been associated with work to me.
We have a few folks that come in and order Buffalo Trace on a pretty regular basis. We keep Weller, Blanton's, Eagle Rare and Van Winkle (when we can get it, and never Pappy) as bourbon selections. It helps being only an hour and a half away from bourbon country. We have top shelf tequila as well. We keep Cabo Wabo and Santo Puro. Beer, all the standard stuff. Except Yuengling and Sam Adams, can't give that **** away. The ladies and the "fellas" seem to like the seltzers.
