Yeah....having a great platform to start with , but i dont know what i want !!

Well, a few years ago I rented and drove two different hybrid cars while traveling. I liked the gas mileage but the gear head in me wanted more horsepower.
I was wondering what type of mileage and performance I could achieve with the right combination of turbo gas engine coupled with the right electric motor while converting the braking system to the electric regenerate type. I figured that I would start with an A body and replace the front clip, doors, and deck lid with fiberglass/epoxy or preferably carbon fiber/epoxy replacements to lighten the body mass. I even figured that I could do the HemiDenny front suspension replacement to get more room in the engine compartment. I thought a good goal was a 12 or 13 second quarter mile car that got 30 miles to the gallon (12.75 Km/L).
Then the cost factor hit me hard and I figured any v-8 would be cheaper but not as interesting to do.
