That’s exactly what my wife and sister in law did when my bro in law passed. They went there cleaned out apartment and garage. Got a big Uhaul loaded it sold what they could, gave the rest to Salvation Army, they came with a truck cleaned up the rest junk and all. Took the girls a week. The only problem they had was with the motor vehicle insurance for some reason they wouldn’t recognize the death certificate and harassed my father in law for a year wanting payment for turned in plates. Straightened out now but my wife had to get nasty about it.
That's normal, you are dealing with the government you know.
When my mom died we had to supply a copy of my dad's death certificate. He had only been dead for 22 years but thanks to my wife she had a copy of it
