I have a 1970 340 short block with low miles and aluminum TRW forged 10.5 Cr and .030 overbore. The pistons are a little heavy for a bracket car but fine for the street. The weight is the same as a stock 340 piston, 720 grams. I built this short-block (it was balanced) in 1993 ran it a very short while on the street then sold the car. I got the car back in 2004 and drove it home from the seller. Seller backed it off the trailer in 1993 crushed the headers and parked the car. He was scared of it and drove it very little. No overheat and 65psi oil on highway. Bores look great & no ring ridge. Needs cleaned up honed, new rings and bearings, although the main bearing looks great. I used another 340 I already had for my 69 Swinger restoration. This was not a numbers match car. The X heads are on the 340 in my car right now. I'm not sure where I got them but it was a long time ago when I was swapping and buying engines. They may have come with the 340 I am selling. It came out of a 71 340 Demon I bought from a friends totaled car. I have had the heads since the 70s. They have been port matched, 4 angle valve job and some port work done here in Houston by Westside Performance and Machine. I have a partial flow chart, need to find it but I know the intakes flowed 260 at .500" lift. They also had a resurface (.010) in the 70s. Never any issues with them sealing or bolt alignment. I prefer to sell the package. Price is $2850 for all. I also have a factory windage tray that goes with block and an angled oil filter adapter. The motor from the Demon came from the Wichita Falls area. The cam and lifters is a new regrind and the specs are below.
