From reading your posts in regards to your car I would first rather see you try more converter, bigger carb, bigger headers, more cam first before going the low gear set route. Also this question should also be run by your transmission builder or at least the transmission vendor where you buy your internal parts from as to what he thinks, on one of my cars it makes enough power that I was suggested to run a higher first gear ratio than stock which is getting away from what you were asking about but I think trans guy i

My AMX was too violent with the stock 2.45 gear set. I had Keith Long " 727 specialist " build me a 904 with a 2.13 first gear. it's much calmer now and more consistent.
