Stop in for a cup of coffee
I guess I could work on that quarter panel if the wife and kids get distracted. Party is at the farm where my car is….
Funny you say that. Going to a friend's house/baby party that's close to the state range. Was thinking about stopping by the range first. Realized it would be a waste of time and ammo. Can't be foucusing on one thing with other unrelated stuff on the schedule.
Is it worth that much these days
To the seller!?
So question. How long can a carb sit new, in a sealed air tight box with Oxy absorbers and still be ready to use right out of the box?
I’m gonna rebuild both these carbs, just cause. But the intent is to have them identically set up so that if one fails on me during power tour or HRDW, I can just bolt the other on and go.
There's nothing to go wrong with them other than what Hoppy already mentioned.
Especially problematic can be PV and accel pump diaphrams older than the l980s. Even if they are OK now, they weren't made of materials that can hold up to the fuel changes of the 1970s...
This is the most likely real reason behind the PV failures populalry rumored to be caused by back fires.
So my plan is to use the allowed small trailer , tow it behind the dart with hard to find Mopar or car specific only parts that I’ll need. Plus my tools and such. The goal is to complete the entire event, I don’t have the car to win the class on speed alone.
 First rule of winning is being able to complete the race!
I don't think you need a spare carb. For a Holley 4150, the problems will be dirt clogging (very unlikely in your case, with a new sock and filter), leaks, fuel level. Those will all be fixed with a screw driver and spare gaskets. The worst connection to deal with is the bowl connections, especially when using 3/8 feed lines. I don't know how we all get talked into using them. Really unneccassary.
last month when I drove an hour down to Dela City in the rain I smelled fuel. When there was an opportunity to sneak out of the event I opened the hood and checked the usual places for leaks. Ended up being the top of one of the bowls. Tighned the lock screw on the needle and seat. Done.
So plenty of room in the trunk for a few spare parts that can be a pain to get. I'd say yes for carb gaskets even though they are easy to get. bowl, block, sight hole, PV, and needle and seat flat gasket. Maybe also a spare accel pump dipahram. Sardine can.
Maybe a spare alternator and VR, dpeending on the condition of yours.
