Pls settle an argument

I've bought 2 sets and my son has a 3rd set of eqs.
The 1st was (and still are) fantastic, those went on a LA 318 block/ the 2nd set went on an LA 360, the jury is still out on how good those are/were as they came out of the box, the 3rd set was definitely junk as taken out of the box. Within 6 miles they stuck and bent #4 exhaust valve and the machine shop said they had to drive out all the intakes and we're harder to do than an engine which had sat outside for 30 years would be. Paid $700 for them fully assembled then had to pay a machine shop another $250 to make right.

The set my son has went on a fresh engine that wound up having an appetite for oil from the get go, he ran 6000 miles and re rebuilt it into a 408 including having had that set of EQs gone thru at the time of the short block redo.
The only set I can say we're fantastic was the 1st set which I bought "bare" and assembled myself using valves and associated stuff that I pirated from cracked stock magnum heads.
I bought mine bare and had them checked before going through them like you did. I got lucky and got mine for $500 for the pair before they started going nuts on the prices.

I've installed new valves and springs. Got the springs from Schneider Cams, they are equal to the 1110 Hughes set at half the price!
