I think he means he stroked a check for it. Something many people might never be able to do.
I respect folks who have the wisdom to defer to those who have more knowledge in an area than they themselves do.
And usually, if somebody can afford to buy nice stuff like that, they themselves likely have some sort of skill others don’t have.
Speaking for myself, I am not an engine builder and have no interest in becoming one. None.
But there are things I CAN do and have done most others can’t.
