Buying a car without a title, but how do I get one?

I don't know about SC, but here is what you might consider doing. You went to a DMV office, and they said it was impossible. Go back to that office and ask to speak with the manager. Explain the situation and see what they say. If the manager says NO, then go to another SC DMV office and ask the same question. In my opinion, the bottom line is that if SC DMV says no, then I would not do it. You risk losing what you spend. I don't like the idea of going through other states to get a title and then going back to your state to register it there. Do what you want, but if my DMV said no, I wouldn't do it.
