Trying to improve (build confidence) my valve seat cutting skills on my Winona seat cutting machine for the past couple weeks on and off. Now that racing is over I’m on a mission to master it after cutting seats by hand for way to many years. So I made a couple trips to my house garage were past experiments usually end up. I grabbed a couple old Edelbrock test heads to practice on. After I quick trip to the cleaning tank I cut seats on one head and threw the other head in to clean. When I went to dry it off I got a good chuckle because this head was my test head with epoxy to try to build a nice short turn. I didn’t have the bench I have now that I could monitor small changes so I abandoned the project. It will probably end back in the house garage after I do a 2.02 and 2.05 valve job on it for practice but this reminds us to keep these failures to laugh at years later.
