Slow build 71 Scamp 440
Hello again,
I've been a bad poster at keeping everyone up to date. A lot has come along since last year and I'll try and fill everyone in. Frontend work is complete with the conversion to disc brakes and bbp. It was a breeze and I encourage everyone to take a go at it. My reared housing has been stripped blasted and painted. I have the axles from Doctor Diff as well as a few other parts to make the job go easier. Namely all the nuts and bolts. Thanks DD. Also completed is the centre section. 400 transmission in Barrie Ontario did the re and re with new guts and 3.55 gears. I have sourced all the rear brake parts from all over and have assembled them and mounted. Over the next few days I'll be mounting the centre section to the housing, install the axles and source the drums and put this project away till spring. In the mean time I'll start to gather info and build the 440. It's been sitting awhile so it will head over to the machine shop for inspection and to deal with a few areas of concern. I'll be running the slant six with this rear till the 440 and parts come together "Slow Build" A drive shaft will be cut so I'm not stranded for next summer. I'll try and post a few shots of all the action.
