According to the free NICB vin check (VINCheck® Lookup | National Insurance Crime Bureau) the vehicle was reported stolen, and then reported as a total loss. I don't have the deep NICB access (they have virtually EVERY insurance claim and payout data) so I don't know the particulars of either event. Because it's a pre-80 VIN, AutoCheck won't provide additional info, but I think it's there. If you know an insurance agent or broker, they may be able to help with the total loss info. It's kind of backwards digging, but the loss location/payout should tell you the police agency that did the report. You should be able to obtain that and find out what yard it went to and go from there, if you don't already have that info. EDIT: I did find this available. Best of luck in locating the motor.
