This ElectraCar was converted when new in 1980 by the JMJ
Electronics Company of Oklahoma. JMJ bought gliders (cars
without engines) new from Dodge and put electric motors in
them. It uses a 132 Volt battery pack, eleven 12 Volt gel cell
lead-acid batteries. There are 5 batteries under the hood and
6 more behind the rear seat where the gas tank normally
would be. And there is an additional 12 Volt battery for the
headlights, wipers, etc. The motor is the original 75HP
Prestolite brushed motor that it came with in 1980. Top
speed is 87mph.
