So I’ve been fighting a new upper ball joint for over a week that I managed to mangle the first three threads on during install. It’s a unique thread pitch it seems as even the 80 piece tap and die set I have didn’t have the right one. 5/8-22. Couldn’t find one anywhere in town either.
Anyway, I tried files, hack saw blade, home made die out of an old castle nut. Threads finally got to looking fine but the new nut would hang there and the ball joint would spin.
A buddy of mine suggested cutting a slot in the top of it to hold it and by golly that worked
