1970-1 340 air cleaner FIBERGLASS BASE

All involved in a 1000 point restoration please leave this thread now! For the rest of us, finding a 1970-1 340 air cleaner mean either taking out a loan or nursing a rusted trashed version back to usability. A decade or more age somebody was making fiberglass bases for these things and I ended up with one in a parts swap. They used to be sold through Year One and others. They look good on the out side and a nice coat of wrinkle finish paint on this and the metal top that comes with it would make a nice addition to a 70-1 340 car that wasn't a concours restoration. I would bet that 95% of the folks looking at a show wouldn't know. I would put some sort of gel coat on the inside to make it smooth. There is no 90 degree elbow for a valve cover breather but the correct location is marked in the fiberglass and could be easily faked in. Base and original metal lid for $175 plus shipping.
