Back in late 1980 a friend of mine (he had a '65 GT 273 four barrel) was told by a guy that he had one of those for sale. Yeah, right. No, it was right, sort of. What he had was a 1967 Dart GT Rally package (handling package, disc brakes) with a 273 four barrel, console tach, 3.23SG 8-3/4. Said it needed a water pump and radiator to run. Didn't mention that it needed those from a head-on collision the night he graduated from high school (1974). The accident shoved the engine and trans back far enough to break the distributor cap against the firewall. We should have restored the car, but we did grab all the good parts. In order to get the rear end out we had to get the car off the top of it as it was in a horse pasture with piles of wood along the right side and rear. This is how we left it and it was like this for nearly 10 years, maybe more.
