Question: When we want to goof around with a basketball we “shoot hoops”. Play catch with other sports. What do you call it when you just want to hit the rink and play some hockey without really competing?

I'm with you BP but I also don't watch any sports except NHRA. The new season should start first week of Feb I think. Some big changes coming, crew chiefs either retiring or changing teams, new drivers etc oh and yes going even faster. 338 in 3.66 seconds is the record I think if I remember right.
