Hah. My aunt & uncles place in the panhandle was on slab. I never worried about snakes - except when when out on the water. Water moccasins (sp?) were not a snake I wanted to meet - especially in their home environment.
You know what seems to freak out a lot of people up here? Cave Crickets! Under porches or in root cellars they seem to be their waiting to make a giant jump!
