I sure have been. I am trying to help her reinforce the idea that Hemi is the Alpha. We usually get a dust up when I lavish attention on Hemi. She wants to be sure the pup understands I am her property, Hah! The pup can’t stand that I am paying attention to Hemi so she try’s to nose in between us. With results exactly as you would expect. The dust ups are getting less frequent and the intensity is reducing. They are on the edge of getting pecking order sorted out. Pup is getting schooled on her manners by both me and Hemi. They are pack animals and only one way to learn pack rules! Once we get some sort of control and guidance established with the pup I will expose her to a dog park or two. It really helps develop social skills. Hemi as a K9 was lacking in social skills in her early years and I did not react soon enough with exposing her to “tourists”. She became very turfy As a result. I do not want to replicate that mistake with the pup.
