I never thought I would own a car more unique or rare than the 71 383 Cuda convertible, but the FM3 Duster pretty much is. To be honest, I have always wanted a two-tone (painted roof) and/or mod top car ever since I have seen a few in Carlisle over the years. The painted roof was what I was jonesin' for. The pink was just icing on the cake, AND it gave the all important nod of approval with the wife since it was pink (Well, and, I told her it would be hers ;-) . The Duster has an 18 year old resto, but has held up incredibly well. Of course, it has a few minor details to address, only to help the drivability, which isn't bad, just not perfect.
For those that might be interested, here are a few details about the E-bods. I bought the 71 383 convertible June 1st 1989 (Yes, I remember the exact day), documented by two broadcast sheets and fender tag. Rallye Red, 4-sp, Black top, interior, AND billboards, 14" rallye wheels. Pretty basic, but holy smokes, it will be a stunner when finished. It has poor paint, but, I don't care, since it will be an occasional driver.
The 70 440 6bbl Cuda is also documented with a broadcast sheet. V-code, Shaker, Auto, Vitamin C, Black vinyl top, Luggage rack, Rallye dash, Magnum wheels. It currently has a crappy Tor Red/Hemi Org paint job. But, once again, I plan to just get it running and drive the heck out of it. Once I get that out of my system, only then will it go back 100% stock.
